Windsurfing hasn't
been that spectacular the past week. Most days we've been on 5m²,
sailing in small waves. The past three days there hasn't been any wind
at all. Today (01.03) the wind enters from southern directions, and seems
to be strong enough for 4.7 m². The south- wind blows sideshore from
the right, good for practicing freestyle in front of the Mistral- Center
(for El Medano spot- info click here ). |

Like the wind,
the surf lately calmed down a bit. While in the north there are still bigger
sets rolling in, the south- western spots hardly got higher waves than
1- 2 meters. Good to start, though! |

Who needs wind
& waves, if there is one of the biggest parties in the world going
on (Tenerife's Carnival is the second biggest worldwide) !? During the
Carnival the atmosphere in the streets of Santa Cruz is really incredible:
peple dancing, singing and laughing, everywhere you look. Those are the
only two weeks of the year, when surfers pray for bad conditions- who likes
to rip with a hangover?? |

Mark Shinn in
his favourite position: a cupple of meters above sea- level! This week
Yoann Kerherve and Mark went to compete in Cabo Verde, where the first
contest of the Kiteboarding Pro Tour 2001 is going to take place. Tenerife
local- hero Mark finished as vice- worldchampion last year- lets see if
he manages to cross out the "vice" this season! >to
